Winter Session 2011 Over...

Good day everyone! Time is flying back fast since the last time I updated my blog.  I will go over events over the last month and go into what will be happening in the next couple months to come.

New years just passed into 2011.  I ended up going to SF with couple friends to celebrate the occasion.  I had a great time with friends and family.  Once the weekend was over, Winter session started on the 3rd.  School wasn't too bad as I thought it would be, but it went by quicker than I thought.  Luckily, I had great group members to help share the work load.  Now that Winter session is over, I'm looking forward for Spring session to start.  Spring session is going to be less stressful for I will be only taking 12 units/4 classes.  Once Spring is over in May, I will be able to get my Degree. (Finally...)

As for work,  It's been great that I'm able to get a chance to learn so many things about so many different programs we use for litigation.  I feel that I'm gaining more knowledge as well as experience in helping others with their computer issues.  I have a great manager and great co-worker that are always willing to help me whenever they can, which I appropriated dearly.  Although, I haven't figured out what I will be doing after graduation, but I would like to continuing working at MF.

After Graduation, one of my close friends is having a bachelor's party in LV sometime in July and his wedding in August.  I will be part of his wedding as a groomsman.  This will be fun.

Other than the events I spoke about above. I will continue writing new blog posts when I get time to update it.   Till then, come back and visit again. Ciao!

Merry Christmas!

It has been about a month since I have updated my blog.  There as been many events that have happened over the last couple weeks.  Everything has been great according to plan.  I was able to accomplish many of my goals and got to see all the people I cherish in my life. I will start by going over academia, work, then my personals.

These past  couple weeks school has been catching up due to the end of the semester approaching.  All my courses was getting ready for finals and all of our big projects are ready to be due.  I didn't expect myself to get such high grades this semester due to work and my personal life, but I'm satisfied with what I got. I can't wait for the winter semester to start. It will be one step closer to the end of the tunnel.

As for work, things have been running smoothly and according to schedule.  I was able to roll out all the new computers out on time and will be able to clean up all the old ones by next week.  The OS image I created on Thursday is ready for deployment.  Thanks to the guidance of my coworker and manager, I am able to solve our IT issues with different perspectives and approaches.  I'm enjoying my job for there is always a challenge that is present as IT is always needed.

As for my winter break, I will be working on the weekdays and enjoying the company of my family on the weekends.  I haven't been going out too often only to visit my close friends I haven't seen in a long time.  Small weekend vacations is suffice for now until I will be able to travel more often once school is over and everything around me starts to settle in and I can redirect my focus on more important matters in my personal life.

Christmas is going to be a little different this year.  My friends are holding Secret Santa with only the guys.  My family will be doing White Elephant this year as well.  My house will be holding the traditional family gathering this year for Christmas.  Although, things around the family hasn't been what I expected, but I am content that we are still here and under the same roof.  Nothing matters more to me than the safety and well-being of my family.  We know nothing in life is perfect, but we will try to make it the best we can make it out to be.  I love them all.

Merry Christmas everyone! Enjoy the warm loving welcomes that enter your moments in life tonight and forever cherish it.

Thanksgiving Holiday!

Thanksgiving Holiday is here! I'm excited to be able to take some time to relax for a couple days.  My plan is to spend time with family and play some catch up with some school assignments.  I caught a couple of snags this week with my San Jose house because it will be going through fumigation during the next couple days.  I wasn't able to study for a midterm in my web based computing class as much I thought I would because I needed to pack and prepare for the fumigation process.  As for my other classes, I had meetings with my groups to discuss our projects in our proposal for promoting affordable green technology products overseas and another project for job satisfaction at Applebee's Restaurant.

I already finished my Christmas shopping, but I'm not going to be able to wrap them up because I need everything from my car to my home in Modesto.  So my family got an early Christmas. It's fine because the things I got are important that we need in the house.

I'm still not sure where we are having Thanksgiving. But I'm sure it will be fun and entertaining. Have a great and safe Thanksgiving everyone. I'll get back to update about the events of this weekend.

New Exciting Things are Coming!

I've been notified that there will be a shipment of 240 boxes of new computers coming this Monday to work.  Although I don't work on Mondays to help out. I will certainly enjoy working on the computers when I come in on Tuesday.  On Tuesday, there will be also a company photo session for the new upcoming website we are going to create.

With all the new excitement and good changes, I decided to change the layout of my room. I also attached my computer speakers to my TV for a surround sound experience to help me utilize my equipment more and not just leaving them there to collect dust.

Tomorrow, my loved ones are coming over from Sacramento to visit me.  My plan is to show them King's Aquarium and take them to Bill's cafe for breakfast. After that we head to Valley Fair mall to do some shopping and downtown for dinner and site seeing.  Lastly, we head to watch Russell Peters at the HP Pavilion.

This is going to be a fun filled weekend.

So Far, So Good

Everything this week has been looking pretty good and going the way I planned it.  I got most of my midterms out of the way.  I have an hour long presentation tomorrow in my BUS119A class.  I will presenting our project tasks, Gantt, risk analysis and PERT. This is going to be fun. Campus and work will be close on Thursday due to Veteran's Day, which gives me time to catch up some labs I have been putting of for some time.  I'm not a very good program to say the least, but I will need to learn it for future references and it would help improve my website once I learn what can be done. I also have a analytical report due this Saturday.

Work today was very satisfying. I was able to setup the projector for a MCLE training for the attorneys.  I was able to participate in the training on how to use visual aid to help the jury understand what the issue is during trials or cases.  Everyday I'm learning new things, and the people I'm around are friendly and fun.

Besides from work, I was able to get all the classes I wanted for Winter and Spring.  So graduating in May 2011 is a high possibility. I can already feel the weight lifting off my shoulders. I'm one happy camper right now.

Winter and Spring 2011

The next 6 months my life will be hectic.  I am going to be taking my BUS189 course this summer which starts on Jan. 3 through the 21, Monday through Friday at 6:00pm to 9:00pm.  I am still going to be working Monday through Friday as well from 9:00am to 5:30pm. Luckily, the professor I have will not be too bad for he was voted the best 189 teacher on campus according to ratemyprofessors and colleagues of mine.

Taking a winter course will let me pull all my resources into a single class and I find that much easier.  This will be one less course I will need to take for my final spring semester with 4 courses left.

3rd Day at McManis

Although I came a little late for work. I was able to finish most of my task in terms of the priority of the due time. We had an issue with some of the software, but it got resolved by using a different software that we don't normally use. My thoughts were as long as it works, I can get it done with all the other computers we have at the company. So luckily for my multitasking skills I learned from my other IT jobs. I was able to finish my task before the due time. Even though I was assigned differnt task every time I go to work, I wasn't able to finish the checklist of what I needed to know. There's always something different to learn and do, which is why I enjoy working there.

I know it is to early to be thinking about I might end up getting let go because they said it's temp. I'm still doing the best I can and hoping I can show them I am capable of helping the IT Team disburse the work load. Wish me luck in the next couple months.

Peace
